In other words, why does a setting like below still open file download dialog? If I choose external application, then it will open it in that selected application. The "Always ask" option shows the dialog as expected, but doesn't offer the plugin, only external applications. If the web server omits "Content-Disposition: attachment" header to instruct the browser to open file directly, then the plugin kicks in, but why do the settings below distinguish external applications and plugins then?
